Cochin

Cochin, for centuries the hub of Indias spice and tea trade, Fort Cochin occupies the northern tip of a peninsula dividing the mouth of the Vembanad Lake from the Arabian Sea. Its low-rise, red-tiled skyline bears the imprint of its former colonial residents: Lusitanian chapels, Jewish synagogues, Dutch burghers houses, Armenian mansions, and British bungalows and godowns (warehouses) all survive in the Forts grid of narrow lanes the largest collection of early colonial buildings in Asia. Visitors can savour the atmosphere of bygone eras by staying in one of the beautiful heritage hotels that have opened around the waterfront.

Munnar

Munnar, in east-central Kerala, is the epicenter of the states tea industry. Plantations of neatly manicured bushes cloak the slopes soaring above this ramshackle town, overshadowed by south Indias highest peaks. Visits to tea gardens are popular daytrips, and the more energetic may trek to the high, grassy ridges overlooking the valley for a glimpse of a Nilgiri tahr, a rare mountain goat endemic to this area.

Periyar

The pride of Kerala and a testimony to natures splendour and human innovation, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is situated on the banks of the Periyar Lake – an artificial lake, at Thekkady. Here the high ranges of the Western Ghats are clothed in dense evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savannah grasslands. Below this thick green canopy roam herds of elephants, sambars, tigers, gaurs, lion tailed macaques and Nilgiri langurs.

Jaipur

The 'pink city' of Jaipur became named after Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II who based the metropolis on November 18, 1727. Jaipur along with Delhi and Agra forms the India's Golden Triangle. that's the maximum popular traveler circuit in India. This capital of Rajasthan is also a gateway to different tourist locations like Ajmer, Pushkar, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Mount Abu inside the nation.

Udaipur

Spread around the shores of shimmering Lake Pichola, Udaipur is the dreamiest of Rajasthans cities. Its skyline of whitewashed havelis and temple towers, rising to the ochre walls and domes of the Sisodia dynastys exquisite City Palace, is one of the most recognisable in Asia, while the sunset views across the water and pleasure palaces on the lake are justifiably the stuff of legend. Shah Jahan once spent a summer here and it is said he was so taken with the beauty of the architecture that he used it as a blueprint for the Taj Mahal. Todays visitors divide their time between explorations of the warrenous old city, and tours of the City Palace, with its richly ornamented mahals. Udaipur also boasts a bumper crop of breathtakingly beautiful palace hotels, and these provide regal bases for day trips to the many monuments scattered among the nearby Aravalli Hills.

Delhi

A megacity whose fast pace and jarring contrasts are guaranteed to induce a degree of wide-eyed amazement, Indias capital is a compelling point of arrival. The vestiges of at least seven great urban centres rise cheek-by-jowl from the banks of the Yamuna River here, dating back more than 3,500 years. All this is blended with the excellent functions of a current city including a metro machine, bustling markets and excellent ingesting locations. The beyond and the present meld seamlessly together, making centuries-old monuments a part of the town’s daily existence. Delhi is very a lot a history’s baby. The tale of the city is as antique because the epic Mahabharata, when the city became known as Indraprastha, where Pandavas used to live.

Agra

Indias iconic Mughal tomb fully merits its reputation as the worlds most exquisite building. Agras heart-stopping centerpiece needs little introduction. Rising from the brown-ochre river banks on the southeast fringes of the city like a vision of heaven, the Taj Mahal is the worlds most ethereal building, and the ultimate monument to romantic love. Having admired the white-marble masterpiece in different lights, venture further north to see the tomb as it would have looked to its creator, the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, whiling away his last years incarcerated in the gilded apartments of Agra Fort.

Alleppey Houseboat

A float in a "Kettuvallam" (Houseboat) via the spell binding backwaters of Alleppey is positive to rob your heart. Palm fringed slender canals winding through the huge expanse of paddy fields and the neat tiny hamlets coated up alongside bothaspects of the canals are panoramic points of interest you could by no means overlook. A house boat is about 67 feet in length and has a width of around 13 feet in the middle. The materials that go into the making are all local and Eco friendly bamboo poles, coconut fiber ropes, bamboo mats, coir carpets etc. The main wood used is Anjili. The house boats have fully furnished single and double rooms with sundeck, private balcony with comfortable chairs, kitchen and toilet with WC.

Ranthambore

Rathambore is a dream destination for flora and fauna enthusiasts. Famed for its avid flora and fauna, Rathambore proffers a picturesque atmosphere with rocky smudges, cute hills, quite lakes, ponds and exquisite ravines. Its rugged terrain and strategic area in the midst of Vindhya and Aravalli ranges makes it a super asylum for those estranged and exceptional breeds within the Animal state.
